oops i super binged splatfest this evening, which is kind of wild because usually turf war doesn't hold my attention for very long — except this time i tried out dynamo and big swig and never of them is half-bad??? i don't like the kit on the big swig at all (i'm awful with splash walls, and how do you use ink vac in a way that's not a panic button.....), but i was having a great time playing it as kind of a fake-out weapon — it's so fast, you can put down looong thin lines of ink that could trick someone into thinking a sniper is around, you can be really annoying and get the other team's feet stuck while a weapon that actually does damage sneaks in and wipes them out, basically you just lay down lots of support ink and possibly psyche the other team out if they don't realize that you're the three-kids-in-a-trenchcoat of rollers and mostly only capable of chip damage (although you can jump swing in a pinch if your reflexes are fast enough).
dynamo roller is cold, calculated, assertive. you really have to think but when you do think, you get results. big swig is the overexcited little kid that wants to run in and blast ink everywhere and mostly wants to leave the thinking to everyone else, but boy are they there to gas you up.
of course, the kit doesn't fit that characterization at all, so maybe the playstyle i landed on is silly and non-optimal. but it's still fun!! a kit that i'd like waaaay better would be toxic mist and tacticooler, which both lean so much more into those themes. ink so diffuse that it's mist. tacticooler is LITERALLY add gas!!! come on devs plz 🥺
