well anyway i've been trying to delete files that i never want to see again off a backup hard drive that has stuff going back over a decade on it. but there are some folders containing like one or two files that refuse to be deleted because they... cannot be found. i am waiting for chkdsk to finish running in order to save me from this hell. please send thoughts and prayers.
chkdsk froze π also now realizing the thing all these undeletable directories have in common is that they are linux home directory backups... so i was probably using an "unstable, maybe don't write data with this" NTFS driver when i made these backups... f
... except i also thought that most of this stuff was copied over from a FAT32 drive that bit the dust a few years ago. i don't know anymore
