two questions? is this even legal?
magic
i am looking at my letterboxd here and i have a Real Answer, but it's not one that is particularly... fun. my pick would be Tomboy (2011), and if i may choose a specific kind of magic, it would be the magic that enables people to let other people be as they are rather than impose a Specific Type of Guy onto them. i think it would have been a much better movie that way!1
pig
look, idk if it would "benefit most" per se, but... there is something appealing about replacing Caden Cotard in Synecdoche, New York (2008) with a pig. everything else is the same, he just happens to be a pig. people would definitely read Meaning into it!

i realize that i have just given a rather oblique review of Tomboy (2011) here. to expand: there are many ways in which i found it very beautiful. this movie touched me in the first hour, and then proceeded to rip my heart out and stomp on it during the last 20 minutes. this is the only time i can recall being truly angry at a film, because... i generally choose to not watch films that provoke that sort of anger!
