thinking about having desk very close to bed as a feature not a bug
- not using chair properly anyway
- already not a lot of room
- bed is bigger
- much larger horizontal surface to spread MIDI controllers
... yeah i don't think it would last.

that is a reason to have a second desk. Or else you'll soon be needing a second bed. is lofting an option?
lofting not an option, what would be ideal is an extra room. (desk is already less than three feet away as it is)
i had my desk next to my bed for months and it was good!
but eventually my back got sad and i had to get a chair 😔
I have my desk next to my bed, but pointing away.
It was good while I was in fatigue mode and only working from bed! if I wanted to be hardcore, I could swivel the monitor arm so I had a second monitor. I could use it as a bedside table.
yeah, honestly those were the main two things, it was fine but not that exciting
