i'm going to a "company retreat" next week. i've never been to one of these before because this is the first job i've ever had that does something like a "retreat". ok i'm lying actually i just remembered that a couple different research groups i was in during grad school did "retreats". one of them was in a house full of eagle decor and one was in the woods somewhere. i told my advisor that i was thinking about going on leave from grad school out there in the woods (ok actually it was in a building where people were drinking and playing board games) and she was more upset than i expected her to be (maybe the drinking was part of that). well that was a weird little amble down memory lane huh
