what i've learned is this movie requires one's brain to basically switch off and retrospectively i'm mystified as to how anyone was able to put any thought into any sort of analysis at all

survived 50 minutes before just... skipping around to the hijinks and grand warm fuzzy conclusion! '90s family movies, man......

i watched the first half in real time and suuuper speed-ran the second half. this was my first time seeing it, i had always thought the burglar slapstick and hijinks were the entire film!

also it was very mean what kevin did to that pizza boy. very uncalled for!!

yeah the pizza guy thing stood out to me this time too, I think it made perfect sense to me as a kid but now the fact that he reacts like it's real but doesn't call the cops feels like it unbalances the kid logic that's otherwise pretty consistent.

I'm kind of surprised it's watchable without nostalgia, I don't know if I actually watched it a lot as a kid but I definitely thought of it as a christmas tradition even if we didn't follow through most years. it's definitely longer than I thought it was, I assumed it was like 84 minutes but it's 104. no idea how I sat through that as a kid
