It's been a very long, and very cold, and very snowy winter up here in IDaho. I've missed some work because the mountain passes I needed to drive keep snowing over and closing; I've already had to cancel plans with friends in Washington twice because the northern US just keeps getting slammed with snow. It is probably the most severe effect the weather has had on my plans in quite a while (at least since the storms and hurricanes of Houston, TX, anyway.)
I'm trying to keep an appreciation for the snow anyway. I moved here in mid-late October, and it's basically been winter the entire time I've lived here, and my base inclination is to be frustrated with it. I'm fighting it; still trying to remind myself that the snow-covered ground is beautiful, think about how I'll long for days of cold breath fogging the air and cross-country skiing.
I took this shot in January, the last time I needed to remember that feeling of joy at a frozen world, and I think I may go out again today to help refresh it for myself.
