I've got a (first gen) Framework I dual boot Windows and Linux on, it's a really nice computer and I'm not sure why they do a chromebook version other than that they can, but it's wildly not a super-low-end-just-enough-to-use computer in the old netbook or now usual-chromebook sense.
idk what edition it was, but one time when I started work for a client,I was given a Chromebook as a "temporary" machine while they got a proper machine prepared for me and it was the single worst computer I've ever used
as someone literally drowning in chromebooks at work, i can confirm that they are indeed trash
