They pushed an update which breaks the Apple Silicon version of the app.
It appears that if you have been affected you can work around it by running the updated app under Rosetta (right click it, choose "get info", then enable "Open using Rosetta"), but note that performance will suffer with that configuration.
EDIT: Looks like they have now fixed it, and if you were affected you can download the fixed app from Discord's site:
do you have to turn on the rosetta version of discord to download the fix or do you just download it from the site?
just download it from the site, though it's possible the Rosetta version will do it for you; if you can't open it again once you turn Rosetta off, grab it from the site!
