hey does anyone have a Sony WH-1000XM3 or 4s that they’ve replaced the ear cushions on? my XM4s’ are starting to flake and I want to replace them, but the Canadian Sony parts distributor want ⅓ of the price of the whole set of headphones to replace the pair of cushions, which feels completely outrageous lmao

I ended up ordering some third-party replacements from Wicked Cushions, will report back with how I find them.

There's also Dekoni Audio, whose earpads look a bit "fancier" but it would've been even pricier than the OEM parts to get them up here to Canada

in reply to @ticky's post:

yeah I am confident I can do it (it was easy on my Bose set), it's just attaining the parts, I try to avoid Amazon as a general rule, but also I can't find anything that looks reputable on there anyway

I've replaced the ear cushions on my XM3s with 3rd party earpads and have had zero problems with them!

I think the XM4s might be harder to find replacements for because of that cutout for the sensor in one of the sides. I've seen some online, but can't personally vouch for them, having never tried them.
