to be honest I have been guilty of being intentionally slightly vague in my instructions expressly to avoid tech support messages from people who don't know how to use a terminal, but I think that's the uneasy tension of posting an open source project; it's thankless but also demands support burden from some people (not necessarily maliciously) unwilling to read even (sometimes especially) your most comprehensive, copy-paste-each-line instructions

I get it, "software" is intimidating, we've done a lot to make things feel like smooth formless objects as "apps" but the truth is there's a lot going on under the hood to make them feel like an AirPods case

Yeah, like when you see that open source stuff is harder to use / less user friendly, instead of "open source really needs to get it's shit together" I wish more people came to the conclusion "wow making usable things is so difficult that almost no one can do it for free"
