I hope you can forgive the horrific self-promotion but I'm too excited about this not to share.
I finally launched my new blog, CD-ROM Journal, where I'm writing about cool, weird games and multimedia art. I've been doing research and preparing stuff for it for ages - I'm really passionate about a lot of the things I've been researching, and I'm happy to finally share it.
I'm starting with a couple of posts. The first is about AL: Artificial Life (Insects), a wildly experimental art project by Daizaburo Harada that includes a CG art book, a novel, and a computer game. It's gorgeous, weird, and fascinating. http://cdrom.ca/games/art/2022/03/31/artificial-life.html
The second post is about Elemental Force, an impossibly rare Japanese RPG for Mac that I really enjoyed. I also wrote about Moon (no, not that Moon), an experimental Myst-inspired 2D adventure game by some of the same team. http://cdrom.ca/games/2022/03/31/elemental-force.html
