Speaking on the internet is to mold whatever version of English you speak into a pseudo US English so that Americans can remotely understand what you're saying as they're a very very prominent portion of people here. Sometimes I don't care, sometimes it's annoying.

It's particularly annoying when you're like, speaking how you normally would, and then an American would pop in being it "bo al wa er" and "chewsday innit".

ngl one of the most personally irritating things I have to tolerate online as an Australian is the “upside down” goofs, IDK man it just wasn't very funny the first time and everyone thinks they’re a fantastic comedian dropping it

IDK I guess it’s an attempt to find some common ground but get some new material or just be fucking normal to me please

this also goes for “wow degrees Celsius are crazy, Fahrenheit is clearly better because xyz” nah dude shut up I don’t care we’re just used to what we’re used to

it should go without saying but friends this isn’t aimed at you, this is about randos thinking they’re being cool fun relatable

oh aye like the yanks act so shocked when an australian or a scot (me) use the word 'cunt' as punctuation. you guys are apparently all steve irwins who ride on roos. (rip irwin though, miss ya)

the layers of self-censorship when I’m in a zone I know Americans will be privy to is very uh, fucking irritating

and yeah it’s like, yes, I saw that simpsons episode too, yes I know about crocodile dundee lmao come back when you’ve seen the castle and maybe we can talk in media references
