Dang this might be my new favourite anime? If there’s one kind of story I LOVE more than isekai (an I am FAMOUSLY AN ISEKAI APPRECIATOR) it’s stories about women not only doing a job, but doing a job INCREDIBLY well. Wave, listen to me is the story of Minare getting roped into doing a graveyard radio slot at 3:30am and producing some incredibly weird airtime. It scratches that same itch that Shirobako did, it’s just so nice to see the behind the scenes of how an industry runs, and watching a women learn she’s super good at it.
I’d totally recommend you give the first episode a shot- it opens cold with Minare fighting a brown bear in a forest, whist answering letters from her listeners. Trust me it makes sense in world 10/10 must see- it’s on Funimation and Prime Video apparently.
A lot of people missed this one, but this show is a lot of fun. Surprisingly down-to-earth. It absolutely sells you on the world of late-night radio, and you just want Minare to succeed.
