tomorrow i think i might start work on my most extensive gunpla paint project yet. exhaust fan don't fail me now...

gunmetal grey paint on top of regular grey plastic is a breeze as always. would that every step of this process could be so free of trials...
a three-color process for today that was...not initially intended to be more than one, oops. turns out i missed a couple of grey pieces on one of the runners, so i snipped those out and hit them with more gunmetal, easy. the pearl green was the only color i was supposed to be using today, but the can was already partly used from one of my last big paint projects and it ran out of paint before i could hit those bottom two parts. rather than buying An Entire Second Can just for two measly pieces, i just said fuck it and used metallic green instead.
had to use primer on the pearl and metallic greens (no primer on the gunmetal as usual). what i've learned from today is that i have to just give up on white primer sprays forever. something about the viscosity or something just makes it get really gnarly air bubbles on at least one part no matter what i do. it's light grey all the way from here on out!
here we see the 00 gundam's backpack, the handle of the gn sword ii, and part of 00's face. from the size we can tell it's a 1/144 scale, but if you compare the gn sword ii on the rg 00 gundam, you can tell they're a little different. so this is some high grade of some 00 gundam—but it could be any variant! could be the regular 00 gundam, the 00 raiser, or any of the 00 variants from build divers. HOWEVER!
this piece gives it away. this shape doesn't show up on any variant of the 00 gundam, exceeeept...
that's right, folks! it's the HG Gundam 00 Diver Arc from Gundam Build Divers!
