funniest thing that's happened in all of ff9 is when you meet the moogle in bran bal who's like "what's mognet?" and then writes a letter that's just like "hey, i just heard of sending mail, this is awesome!" to his buddy in the nearby dungeon who says "what was all that about" when he reads it

all in the middle of the heavy stuff going on

i'm actually really excited to finish this game and write some stuff about it because i feel like my opinion of it has like...150'd in the last few hours of disc 3

Almost but not quite entirely reversed?

I haven’t played it in like 20 years but I vaguely recall that being about where the tone, plot, and gameplay all do dramatic pivots.

there were a few things i liked already but they were largely drowned out by annoyance at a lot of other things (i've been playing it on a ps1 which contributed heavily to that) but now i genuinely think this is about to end up one of my final fantasy games out of almost nowhere
