until i got my drawing tablet recently, post-xp ms paint was my go-to for just doodling whatever came to mind because hey it's convenient and intuitive. (the caveat is you should just stick to pencil tool and eraser and fill and rectangle select and custom colors and ignore, like, almost everything they added to post-xp paint - the weird subpixel-antialiased brushes suck major amounts of ass and the default palette somehow has what i believe to be the worst versions of every color in it. paint xp is absolutely the better program overall.)
that is exactly why i still have xp-paint.exe and a shortcut to it in my taskbar. absolutely king of "i just want to slap some shit on a canvas and not care"
oh absolutely. heck the only reason i left paint was because it cant take full advantage of drawing tablet bonuses, and i've just gotten too accustomed to the multi layer flow with it. but should i feel the urge to return to mouse for a silly doodle? the uncontested King of Slapping Shit Down aint goin anywhere, baby
another fun one: spacebar will draw for you. you can move the cursor with the arrow keys. so if you want very precise drawing, you can do it that way.
this also works with making selections and iirc, any tool
also, can you upload the winxp paint somewhere?
i re-shared it with a link for everyone else but: yes, your mileage may vary https://mini.xkeeper.net/files/XP-Paint.exe
started feeling nostalgic for this, found out that one of my old backups still had mspaint.exe lurking in the WINDOWS/SYSTEM32 directory. helllll yes.
i need to find my copy of the pre-windows-10 calculator too, the new one sucks so much
to be fair it can go fullscreen which is absolutely useless but neat
fullscreen calculator is such a funny idea, to me. why dedicate your full screen to a calculator? are you entering HI-SPEED CALCULATION TRANCE MODE???? and if so can i get in on that action
it doesn't even dedicate the whole screen space to making all functions visible, just makes the buttons BIG
we could've had so much, but nope, minimalism happened
this is, perhaps, the single funniest thing they could do for fullscreen. is it "good"? no. but it is "a total riot" that its just Lorge
i stumbled into this site the other day trying to find the same thing, seems to be part of the winaero.com group of folks whomst try to tweak windows to your liking, tho i've no idea how safe it is
