It was apparently started in 1996 and reading it is kind of strange because nearly every post you encounter contains replies from over the span of at least 28 years.
It uses some sort of custom email-like posting system, and as a result of that posts cannot be edited. So instead of updating FAQ pages, they are simply appended; the entire history of the site is still there. Pretty cool.
There are ungodly necroposts going on here, where folks resume a conversation 22 years after the last comment was posted. And it still seems to see daily activity!
Browsing that site sure feels like stepping into a time machine that teleports you straight to the early 2000s internet experience!
