I watch FoldableHuman's takedown of the Nostalgia Critic's Review of the Wall a decent amount. It's a great video on The Wall and you can really tell how much seething contempt there is for Doug's half-assed shitting on a film that clearly means something to Dan.
A line that always sticks out to me is "Doug wants to be a filmmaker, he wants to make art, but he can't, because he's a fundamentally incurious person who isn't much interested in what other people think or feel and all his ideas boil down to 'what if Batman met Mario?". And it's a very scathing and true quote, that is accurate about Doug.
But, you know, I'm gonna give Doug a microscopic level of praise here. At least he does want to be creative. At least he tries to make films. That makes him more curious than every single techbro who makes AI Art. Doug is bad at art, but damn if at least he doesn't come up with his own (bad) ideas instead of asking ChatGPT to do it for him. At least he gets cameramen and actors and goes out and makes shit instead of plugging an idea into a bot and regurgitating the slop that comes out on the internet for clicks.
AI "Art" is a fucking blight and is a lower form of creative endeavour than Doug Fucking Walker.
