I am enjoying pacific drive WAY more than I expected to, out of a combination of

  1. it's actually slightly less horror toned than I expected in that once you figure out what creatures do they're a lot less scary than they first seem, though there are exceptions
  2. the core loop tm of going out and gathering stuff and everything going horrifically bad as you desperately try and get back scratches a real specific itch for me that not many games hit

Ahah

I just finished a drive with a very dark environment, at night, and dust bunnies and lightning

Somehow survived, though may have poked the storm settings just to buy myself some time

Oh yeah and it was night

Definitely agree that at first it feels like, "oh no it's a horror game, I won't be able to play much" and you jump from every little thing.

Then you learn more and eventually you're just going "Ugh, tourists waving from the bush again..." while trying to not turn your back as you carry The Orange Orb That Kills You.
