The best part of every platform that isn't one of the big ones is that they're all small enough that shitty famous people can still be successfully bullied off of them
Remember when Wil Wheaton was bullied off the fediverse?

nooo what. a celebrity even tried fediverse? o_0 I only remember John Green getting bullied off tumblr owo
Lol yup, here's an article about it (although it's written from a perspective sympathetic to Wheaton): https://www.theverge.com/2018/8/31/17801404/mastodon-harassment-wil-wheaton-mobs-twitter
Is Wil Wheaton a shitty person? Honestly I've seen him bullied, a LOT, on the internet, but I don't think I've seen him do anything terrible?
To be fair, he definitely isn't even in the worst 10% of celebrities, but prior to 2020ish he wasn't particularly apologetic for his own previous homophobia and transphobia, and has always been thin-skinned with respect to hearing criticism of his own implicit biases. The ur-Liberal of online famous people. Which seems pretty tame in this era of just blatantly, openly fascist online famous people.
