I was always kinda underwhelmed with the sides for my Waldorf Iridium. They always felt and looked kinda meh. Otherwise the build quality is really good and everything you'd expect out of a high quality German company. The sides were like the only area where it felt like they cheaped out. Which honestly, I'll take. For the longest time, I thought they were just some pieces of plastic, but after I opened it up, I realized they're actually pieces of wood with a plastic coating. So strange. So I've always wanted to fix the sides and go with some traditional wood cheeks. I've been getting into handtool woodworking and I figured it would be a cool first project. It might have been the first project I started, but ended up being like the 5th project I've actually finished. I think I did good picking cherry for it though. What do you think? :D
PS - I also included a promotional picture showing off what it looked like before.
