I just love your display name, were you inspired by Why of why’s poignant guide ?

I was! This is maybe not the most respectful way to pay tribute to why but the poignant guide was revelatory to me as someone who got trapped pretty quickly in the boring parts of professional programming. A lot of why’s work in the Ruby world reminded me of what got me into computing as a kid in the first place and helped me reset my path in both hobby and professional stuff to matching my own values a bit more instead of doing C++ work that made ancient systems do legacy database things for boring enterprise companies, and I was part of the group of people that received & interpreted why’s final work CLOSURE in 2013.
