as an addendum to this, if you are updating your blog, make use of the “mailto” URI scheme in hyperlinks! Have an obvious link at the end of your posts that directs mail to your email address of choice. Do it either with your blog’s templating engine or just copy/paste a snippet into the bottom of the post. Include the title of the post as a subject line if appropriate.

If you are worried about spam, put a sort of manual “captcha” in place of the email address or use a little bit of JavaScript to have the link contain the email address only after an interaction of some kind. If you’ve never done this before, do some reading on the web to discover ways people have dealt with this problem in the past.

if you are ready to reply to blog posts with emails, make sure your browser + device’s OS is configured to open mailto links in a client and with an email account that you want to use to reply to blog posts.

the older ways of doing things are frequently less convenient but a lot of them do still work. you can have imperfect solutions and you can iterate on them over time. be engaged in pursuing what you want out of the web.

i should set up a dedicated email for my site instead of relying on neocities profile comments... if we're entering an age of email as talking to your friends again instead of just getting ads and work stuff, i would be happy
