I'm realizing as I try to do some test stuff with eleventy (love it!) that I have gotten ENTIRELY accustomed to it not requiring the stupid double line break
UPDATE: never mind, figured it out! Eleventy uses the markdown-it library which has a standard option called breaks; setting that to true gave me the behavior I've gotten used to. Perfect.
