now to decide between a static blog and using something like GoToSocial + finding a Mastodon API-compatible client that will let me receive notifications but hide numbers (is there one?)

edit: it does look like Phanpy does? I'd like something a little more lofi tbh but this might do the trick

my biggest remaining problem with 11ty is that when I want to write a post, I don't want to open my markdown editor, go to the "content" directory, create a file, use some kind of trigger to insert the right "frontmatter", and then when I'm done writing, I don't want to check for YAML syntax, then run a "script" to "publish my entire blog". I need to type "millennial middle managers are like 'ted lasso to the polls'" and hit "post now" before I realize I'm making a mistake

on the other hand I’m looking at the post box in Phanpy and it’s like… no title? no separate tags field? and it’s like two lines tall even though GoToSocial supports 5000 character posts? Maybe I just need to find a way to make my own posting interface for 11ty

This is how I use WordPress, there's a little plus button in the Jetpack app (I don't know why it's called that) and then I type my stupid little thing and hit post and it's Out There In The World, which is right and good. But it's also extremely bleh vanilla wordpress, so that is probably not desirable for most.
