it's weird that if I said "I should be able to sit down and play any ROM for any console, from a web-browser, using telemelt, for a small monthly fee" I'd think I was an idiot but I would have said the same thing about Plex like 18 months ago

I mean I knew people who used Plex before that but I always assumed it was like 2 days away from getting shut down for rampant piracy
telemelt doesn't seem to have any ambitions of being a commercial product of any kind but if it did i would certainly also pay for this service. right now i carry around a USB stick with a portable retroarch install in case i ever need to play monster world 4 on the go
yeah I think it'd have to be a copycat product that takes the basic infrastructure and runs with it. I do have a pretty solid retroarch config at this point, I tried setting it up on one of those bootleg ~GBA-sized handheld devices but it's just not quite powerful enough. Embarrassingly close to dropping way too much money on one of the larger Steamdeck competitors for it
wowww how have i not heard of telemelt b4, thank u for bringing this to my attention
imo telemelt is like... the most fun you can have on a discord call
uploading the entire nes and pc engine libraries to dropbox for telemelt and writing a python script to select games at random was really one of the wisest choices i have ever made
yeah you better believe we're doing that on the friday stream again soon. I managed to fit GB/SNES into my Dropbox as well
