Iโ€™ve seen people on twitter punk on the old 70s Stanford Torus/ Bernal Sphere concept art for basically being American Suburbia in Space but to be frank in a situation where you can literally just build more space to live in without worrying about, like, nature conservation or density concerns whatโ€™s stopping you (or discouraging you!) from being space-inefficient with housing and just giving everyone a snazzy 70s futurist home at Earth-Moon L4?

taller buildings mean that your water pours differently each floor, the one place suburbia kinda makes sense is on a space habitat

like there's a lot of green between each clump of houses but where there is buildings they're quite close together. It's actually more like Dutch suburbs
