it's happened at least twice now that cohost has a big race discourse and then some white person decides to go around to every person of color they come across like "um, hi, can you please supply me with the correct discourse opinions, or else?" i'm not pinning this one on the collective whiteness of this site in particular because it happens all the time on tumblr but it is nevertheless very funny to me. "mommy? mommy? sorry. mommy?" but for asking if you're not racist

and like that's not to say white people shouldn't reflect on racism- we absolutely DO. the motivation should be compassion and treating PoC as human beings, not oh no, what opinions will make me a Good Person™ (implicitly so that i can stop thinking abt this and return to blissful white ignorance)
