me and jet ended up watching Shangri-La Frontier on a whim recently and both ended up getting extremely into it. i could say a lot about how it gets the feeling of playing video games right, and how the lack of contrived win-or-die stakes a la Blade Picture Website helps make fights feel more real because the protag can actually lose them, and how the female characters are surprisingly three dimensional and don't revolve around sunraku (except for the comic relief sheltered girl who plays as an enormous, terrifying knight, who i forgive because she is very entertaining)
