Yes. Just like an orb-weaver spider, which has a penis that breaks off in the female.
Yessssssss!
I was gonna say "finally, a mistake in the field I've seen more than Gravis! :D"
Cuz yeah, I've seen some overenthusiastic, underexperienced stagehands who didn't take basic Live Event AV Technician training with me teaching it ... do that.
The button isn't just cosmetic (or, well, on that particular cable I guess it is now...)
โฆ.Iโve done this before. It was in a work environment and the cable latch turned out to be broken, but yeah.
Displayport should have been called "Secure Digital". Because (1) it's digital, and (2) it is securely attached in there.
I almost wrecked my RX 7800XT doing this. I didn't know DisplayPort had the latch.
I still find it odd that people just assume that cables aren't securely attached to the computer.
People would do this all the time on machines I hooked up, because I would use the locking screws.
i thought this guy was fucking the computer at first
If he were a lizard and not an alligator i would label this "probably autobiographical"
damn near but also we're close enough, i'll steal the valor
This is how I learned display port is latching (never ended up with anything that used it, assumed it was like HDMI which is not latching)
