i added cohost support to an existing bot of mine, DeusEx.txt. follow it if you want to see a random line from Deus Ex once a day!

i don't think it's possible to use a particular web-based font from cohost CSS, so you'll just have to take my recommendation to install the font "Slicker" on your system, for it to look 92% more Deus Ex-y. (DX1's actual in-game dialog font was a hand-made pixel rendition of Slicker, but the main menus are stock Slicker and pretty much all the letter forms are familiar.)

don’t forget to have a font stack so it doesn’t just display as times as a fallback. i’d recommend something like futura, geneva, sans-serif or something idk web safe fonts are messy

Deus Ex didn't use Slicker for its menus but rather the original and much more popular font that Slicker seems to imitate, Handel Gothic

ah yes, i found this out after making the post and looking for other common names for the font. Slicker just happens to be what i knew it as for many years.

Is "Slicker" what the font is internally referred to in the games files? Because it (and "Aero", mentioned by @leilei elsewhere in the comments here) appear to be direct derivatives of Handel Gothic (1965). I ask just because documenting Handel Gothic's many appearances in video games has become something of a hobby of mine (https://www.backloggd.com/u/WitchCian/list/games-that-use-handel-gothic/) and this would be a nice little factoid to have

Great list! FRD's Second Sight can be added to it as it shares the design of ammo counters with TimeSplitters 2 including specific ammo textures and the usage of Handel Gothic, additionally it reuses the font on at least the sniper rifle rangefinder

Colin McRae Rally 3 uses the font in the logotype for one of its courses, though there are 7 other courses so it's not as prominent but it is shown front and center

And the most tenuous of these, Dead Space 2 uses it in some background textures so probably not enough to be actually mentioned in that list but I still think it's neat

wow! thanks for the spots! Second Sight is one that definitely crossed my mind but its absence in Timesplitters Future Perfect made me forget about it.
The Dead Space 2 example is also very funny. It feels authentically cheesy in a way for this space station to be advertising itself like its EPCOT.
