Got a chance to play this today and had a really good time. It's a vaguely Dead-By-Daylight-ish asymmetric multiplayer game (a bunch of harmless little people have to complete a checklist of tasks in order to escape a place, while fleeing/outwitting/outmaneuvering an unkillable monster) but with the core mechanic of Half-Life 2's "Sandtraps" chapter.
Basically, there's a big old sand worm roaming around this Wild West town. It's fast, it's agile, it's invincible, it can demolish buildings, it can leap out of the ground and snatch you, but—crucially—it can only see you if you're touching the sand. You're playing the-floor-is-lava with an intelligent adversary, who can be tricked and distracted—though probably not reasoned with. Physics objects can be tossed to create distracting vibrations, and the platforming system lets you cling to almost anything, at least until your grip gauge runs out. Like most of these sorts of games, your best hope is to split your efforts, and try to get as much done as possible whenever you know for sure that the worm is hunting someone else.
I really like this game. It's pretty straightforward to pick up, but rewards audacious mind-games and misdirection. There's only one map at the moment (well, more of a procedurally generated arrangement of objects and structures), but it really doesn't need the endless multiplayer content avalanche. It's just a good platform for getting a bunch of folks together, chasing them around, and hearing them yelp when you snatch them clean off the train roof.
