I understand the urge to say "don't criticize trans people's presentation, they're doing their best" but I'd be personally be quite peeved if I knew people were withholding valuable feedback because they thought it was the 'nice' thing to do.
I'm paranoid, dude! I don't have the faintest idea what people see when they look at me because I don't trust anyone to speak frankly without tempering their words! I'd much rather get called out for my shitty eyeliner by a concerned friend than a drunken late-night train passenger.
