I'm no fan of the music listening experience of "yeah just put on [streaming service] and it'll algorithmically pick stuff to play forever", but I do regularly find myself sitting in silence for hours at a time because Winamp finished playing an album and I don't want to interrupt my work to decide what to queue up next

In cases like that i tend to do the middleground thing of letting winamp shuffle and repeat
for the past 22 years i've had everything in one giant playlist that i just jump around in. when an album finishes the next album alphabetically will come on. (usually i won't want to listen to that, which forces me to change to something else, and oh get a glass of water, get up and stretch, etc)
So glad that you also still use Winamp, because the chances of you knowing this are way higher than the nothingness I've found until now: do you know of a working plugin to play mod files? 
OpenMPT Module Decoder seems to be the one I'm using. I dunno where you'd get it normally, but it comes natively with WACUP (which I'd highly recommend, if you're not using it)

Last time I wasn't able to load some old plugins that are a must for me (vgstream, SSF Decoder, etc.)
