thoughts on cheer wine?

I've never had it! Even though I'm pretty sure I've heard of it, possibly either back when I was still watching vlogbrothers or MBMBAM. Some piece of online media featuring white men, idk.

I have had Moxie, which maybe feels like a similar level in the "local soft drink" department. And sorry Maine, but I hated it. Tasted like dirty cough syrup to me. I know y'all like it though, so more for you!

as a moxie enjoyer

it is absolutely a medicine soda but you ALSO have to sip it. you can't drink it as easy as a modern soda because then you JUST get the bitter note it leads with. you gotta let it sit. fucking sommelier ass shit for a soda lmao. But even if you did that it is absolutely a contentious flavor. I just like when shit tastes weird. I drink coke zero for the "it's coke but fucked up" taste lmao. pepsi zero's even better for that, new fav drink lmao

but cheerwine is a good cherry soda, though far less hyperregional than moxie. basically the entire southeast has it, like VA/NC/TN/GA/SC/FL, in some capacity.

i genuinely have stashes of both (12pk cans) in my pantry. moxie gets smuggled down whenever my grandaprents visit their NH family and bring back as much as the Walmart had in stock the day they left, Cheerwine is now fortunately starting to make its way into Publix's stocking plan here (it was alrady present in SC but it took until like last year for it to show up here)
