I really like the moody, threatening gray of an impending rainstorm, especially if everyone else is inside and the streets are quiet except for the wind whipping up through leaves (which seem greener, somehow). There's a grumbling rumble of thunder in the distance, and another, and another, each getting louder and more violent, heralding the approaching storm.

The kind where you look up to the tops of trees and see them swaying wildly against a deep silver sky. You can tell that the tension in the clouds are going to break, and when they do, it'll be a torrent, a waterfall, just an absolute sheet of rain. But it's the middle of summer and it's been super hot so you and your friends don't mind getting caught out in it.

The group gets home not in time at all, clothing soaked, and you each point in different directions to watch the streaking lightning and feel the rolling thunder in your chest. You call out to each other when a particularly bright bolt tears through the sky, and the collective "woaaahhhhh" rises from the group, and maybe a shriek or two when the deafening crash of thunder thooms through you.
