When I was younger in the 80s, "gay" was the go-to all-purpose insult. "Queer" was used by queer studies professors writing in academic journals.
yup. saying queer is a slur is the ultimate giveaway that you were in school either in the 70s or the 2010s

oh yea i've been exposed to a lot of this "discourse" on tumblr around like… 2018-2020 ish i thiink. had to unfollow quite some people
