I was gonna write a crossover between it and Sonic Pizza, basically going crackfic mode on the scenario where sonic comes back to life, finds a pizza joint using his dead body and name, asks for the manager, GETS TURNED INTO MORE PIZZA, and at some point eggman comes in and tries a bite.

this was specifically instigated by how sonic dies in prison gets mentioned a lot by someone in a server i'm in

so i went in and decided to read the former fic to get a grasp on it, since i already read the latter pasta

i

think i made a massive mistake doing that and now i don't wanna write the crossover fic anymore

first i read brendaniel's reading of part 1, and somehow i already started to feel like i'm throwing my brain into the wringer. because of piles upon piles upon piles of crack details (sonic having a wife and kids but there's a big age gap??? Eggman (seemingly) turns a new leaf for sonic and wants to spend a night with him???? TAILS GOT INVOLVED IN ILLEGAL WEAPON TRADE????? SONIC JUST GETS IMPLICITLY TRIALED AND THEN SENT TO JAIL WHILE UNCONSCIOUS??????) started to strain my mind.

and then i got to part 2 and 3 and i don't think it helped me recover, because there's the OTHER cracked thing about sonic apparently having romantic history with the devil, and sonic deciding to reconcile and get his revenge on eggman with a wicked deal (also WHAT THE HECK? apparently spending time in hell also meant sonic ended up enjoying some of the stuff there too. and AAAAAAAAA? the devil being a sonic fan...). and once he comes back to life he hastes up to go to eggman, finds him READY TO SHANK HIMSELF, and sonic found out that 1) eggman's plan for world domination ultimately did nothing to make him happy proper, and 2) eggman had conflicted feelings over his massive long game against sonic especially after that one night in part 1 where the flashback shows that reggman was conflicted over doing this long game which involved going into a much more normal life where he could get close to sonic, not helped by sonic coming into his room with nothing resembling harmful intent in his eyes. And then sonic kills eggman anyway because he was SINCERE on his promise to get his revenge to eggman by murder. and then after the timeskip to his death sentence, sonic only smiles because of how he's satisfied he got eggman dead after violently stabbing him in the back all the way back in part 1.

i was not expecting part 3 to get weirdly heartwrenching through addressing the consequences set in part 1 and not contradicting sonic's goal of getting his revenge in part 2

the moral of the story is that love redeems, but only if you follow through with it, as sonic did with the devil. do not screw the pooch if the chance presents itself, as eggman did with sonic.
