jimmie told me the last connections was "too easy" and "not enough bullshit" (you can immediately tell from this that jimmie does the real NYT connections)

hopefully this one is harder! there is a touch of bullshit in there as well.
this one has some obvious red herrings. please let me know if you find interesting non-obvious red herrings!

for each category, there is always one clue that applies only to that set. so, look for the clues that are most dissimilar to others, and build around those clues.

glad you made another one. I had to give up though cuz I couldn't figure it out. seems harder to make if they're all one thing (ex: places) because there will naturally be incidental things tying them together. my thought process as I was trying to solve was to think of what unique things a room had and seeing if that fit. ex: "deku king room has someone you can photograph, so does pf main courtyard, twin islands, north clock town". ex2: "sht map/chu room has something you can see with lens, so does goron village, beneath the well, and goron grave"

shoot, the "places with things you can see with lens" is just an oversight. there are exactly four, so that should be a valid answer and is a mistake in the puzzle. sorry about that

i did think about "things you can photograph" when putting deku king in, but hoped that it being tingle, tingle, deku king, and pirate would be enough to disqualify it—if that were an answer, i think it would need to be all-tingle or all-different-photographable things (a place with a big octo, for instance). yr right that places can have many different qualities, so maybe this was too broad a topic, rip

your strategy is exactly right i think! happy to give hints if you need and there are hints in the discord. or if it's just too irritating a puzzle, no worries lmao. either way, thanks for giving it a try!

i think i'll do one more of these in a week or two, hopefully i can balance the difficulty so you and adruck and jimmie don't immediately get it, but it's also not frustrating
