so my ux was like, there's a separate page from which you send your ask, and it's sametab and not newtab by default, which is okay i guess because it's something you should think about asking and it's allowed to be long, so the friction there over a commentbox or a tab-opener is both appropriate and effective.
then when i hit send, it posted the ask, and then kept me on the same page instead of leading to history.back() or document.referrer? or cohost.org/askee? like girl you want me to write another one???? one ask is more than enough human contact for one day, thank you
i hadn't paid it any mind on desktop for some reason but it's actually really neat on desktop. you can use it to dm your chosties by having one tab on their askpage and another on your inbox.
i never got into tumblr so if this is a wisdom already gained from over there then i guess i am just one of today's lucky 10000. but do people really send other people multiple asks in a row? to me it is such a liminal space of a webpage. i use it to type out a short one or paste in a longer thoughtful one. i am excited, to chostly levels, by the thought of reading it to filth and seeing it destroyed
