I continue to be fascinated by the whole subset of "small things that run Linux and play old video games", no matter how much the space gets taken over by glorified Android tablets and things trying to kill the Steam Deck, so I bought ANOTHER ONE. This time it was the Anbernic RG35XX, which is actually my first vertical format handheld and I don't know why it took me this damn long to actually get a vertical one because this form factor is great for getting that "Game Boy but much cooler" feel that draws me to these devices to begin with.

Also Pokémon Puzzle challenge looks great on it and that Game Boy Colour game continues to be my litmus test for "is this device worth it?" for Reasons.

I highly recommend it if you're willing to do a little tinkering because if you're willing to flash a custom firmware to an SD card they're probably the most convenient way to play a pretty sizeable library of classic games. It's also neat for something this cheap (I paid £60 for this from a reseller based in the UK) to be able to play... Pretty much every home console up to and including PS1 without any real issues.

It's on its way to me now!! And yes one thing I found out about myself when I got my Steam Deck was I love tinkering a lot. I've already looked up stuff on GarlicOS and am day dreaming about everything I'm gonna load onto it haha.
