I ordered the purple version and it looks a hell of a lot nicer in-person than I was expecting. The actual virtual pet side of things is fantastic, and it's nice to finally own a brand new mainline Tamagotchi for the first time in a while. Surprisingly, the watch strap actually fits my wrist fine, but I think long-term I'm gonna wanna buy myself a lanyard for it because I can see the rubber strap getting uncomfortable over long periods of use.

Ooo I am glad to see people are starting to get them! I was considering preordering, but I felt kinda let down by the Pix that I was feeling a little hesitant.
People were able to get them early at some UK retailers and the early community impressions seem to be a lot more positive than they were for Pix, which is usually a good sign! So far this feels A LOT like the Tamagotchi Smart, but without all the weird half-measures like the touch sensors in place of the A and C buttons that were never super reliable to begin with.
I liked my Pix for the first generation, but after that it felt shallow and the touch controls were so awful I didn't want to play the mini games anymore.
The fact they've just gone entirely back to physical buttons with actual feedback is genuinely the biggest step forward comparative to both the Pix and the smart and it's not even funny. There's a reason why the P1 and P2s are still a lot of hardcore fans preferred modern Gotchi.
I am so thankful that I still have my Cookie Connection and that it works perfectly. I ended up going back to that after the Pix lol
