lots of people got into the fandom by searching for "digimon porn" (pokemon porn, porn of cartoon characters they liked, etc)
now, these people are earnestly arguing that all of the "digimon porn" and artists who make it should be removed from "normal, safe" sites and forced to the margins where they've shoved feral porn, abdl, ageplay, cub porn, and where actual literal CSA imagery exists.
once it is removed from FA, where will a kid who searches for digimon porn THEN find themselves? we ought to ask because we KNOW they are GOING to search for it, right? you understand that you will not STOP them from searching for it by moving it off of FA. consider exactly how you think you are making people better off
no im saying whether or not they're "allowed to" is immaterial to whether it happens. it is astounding to me that it's forbidden to say this in a community of people that largely FOUND THEMSELVES by searching up horny material that they "should not" have been looking at.
That IS what is happening. you know that. there's an extremely high chance that you did it yourself. and if not you definitely had a friend that did. why are you pretending something else is true? what do you get from pretending that YOU were a special and precocious child but everyone else is a perfect helpless and brainless cherub until they become 18, unless acted upon by some outside perverted force?
all this does is mystify the actual problem (creating situations where a child comes into social contact with an adult who has malicious motives) by pretending that something that happens all the time, is definitely happening now, and continues to happen no matter what you do, is NOT happening and would only ever happen if a Pervert in a Trenchcoat did something monstrous to the grinning empty-headed babydolls you have replaced real children with.
You are doing abstinence-only sex ed but one layer removed - for the thing that kids are FORCED to do because republicans and social conservatives won't let actual sex-ed exist. Between them, and you, the only way children will be able to find information about their own sexuality (and they WILL find it) is to go to the worst places on the internet, look at the worst images posted there, and talk to the worst people they can find.
Is that Good?
if you want to protect kids from abusive adults you have to consider what exactly are the circumstances that are actually bringing kids into contact with those adults
is it the existence of art of someone's diapered bulbasaur OC? i'm venturing probably not. is it the ability to interact socially and sexually on a website that contains pornography without any sort of check or validation on who is interacting and how other than "please promise you're a grownup uwu"? seems much more likely to me. with the knowledge that some number of kids are finding the fandom and its platforms through DELIBERATELY SEARCHING FOR PORNOGRAPHY we come to the conclusion that having a combined social platform / porn hosting site is the most irresponsible thing that could be done.
But no, we're just moving the sexual images of cutesy 4-heads-tall characters into a cesspit. Images which cannot interact on their own. Into a place with people who DEFINITELY CAN.
