yeah i am very glad that "i need to open this auth app" is now a guessing game of which indistinguishable google crap icon is which and not "it's the big gray one"
i am glad that it looks like a butthole though. i love it when designers own-goal
my favorite part of the new awful google authenticator icon is that someone decided that they had to use all of the brand colors so the coloration pattern isn't even rotationally symmetric
it would be a fun game on the internet to put together a quiz of "can you identify all of these google icons from one another"
it does make the remaining few holdouts (like "news" and "translate") stand out more i guess, wonder how long until they come up with another shitty design for those
