i like that twilight sparkle is like, archetypically a girl wizard, rather than a witch. there is a big difference in vibes between wizard and witch and i feel like most western media about girls with magical powers tends to put them in the witch category, while wizards tend to be male, and i like seein a wizard-ass girl, with the academic approach to magic and the stacks of books and the funny doodads.

I love that she's always interested in stuff! I think curiosity is a fantastic trait. But often the "smart" characters of shows are anti-social or have some negative traits to balance. Having a main character be both interested in learning while not being overbearingly dweeby or uncool is great.
