treating the staff posts as little honeypots to find puriteen weirdos to block is simply a good practice
i feel some sort of need to clarify after actually reading the source of the disk horse du jour and gaining more context as to what was actually in the comments: much of what i found was just people feeling betrayed by that (now temporary) decision, expressing disappointment, that they felt suddenly unsafe/tricked, all of which i can easily understand and get behind, to varying degrees based on the way people expressed themselves.
however directly equating fictional art that like, makes this place harder to recommend, makes people feel less safe, would be triggered or just squicked out if they saw on accident (or even a CW'd post saying it contains it), that you feel poses an increased risk of being used by bad actors to cause harm to their chosen victims, to actual unconscionable, indefensible crimes that on their own constitute direct harm and exploitation of real victims is what i found earning a hard block from me. many people have shown their ass in this way today and that's my personal view of what's the puriteen weirdo shit that was being alluded to by the OP when i shared it, even if OP themself might have a different opinion of where that line is
