spent the last few months thinking my oboe can't play the low b flat bc it doesn't have the low b flat key, and i just realised it has 2 holes on the bell joint that i'm supposed to close with my knees to play the note. that's hilarious.
asked an oboist i know about it and he said he's never seen this before lol. going to ask the other oboist i know about it tomorrow.
