it's funny how immigrants do an absolutely fine job of learning english and being immersed in it and doing school/jobs/etc through it when they move to the uk, but somehow english-speaking children learning welsh or any other of our minority languages is way "too much" and "we have to put a stop to them being forced to learn welsh".

so immigrants are expected to learn english bc it's "the language of our country" even when they speak a different language(s) at home, but when we remind english-speaking monolinguals that welsh is also a "language of our country" then they whine about how hard it'll be for their poor english-speaking children to cope with speaking english at home and welsh at school and how it'll "really disadvantage them" (aren't there a number of studies showing that bilingualism/multilingualism actually only benefits children??)

how come everyone else can cope with speaking multiple languages in different places/times/etc in their life and we are actually expected to that, and in some cases forced to do that, but english people should never be expected to do that ever and they'll never cope and it's far too difficult for them.

bilingualism/multilingualism is the global norm!!
