i know that books and stories in general often need conflict in order to actually have a stoey, but god that doesn't stop me getting secondhand embarrassment? anxiety?? when it happens. irl i find even very minor conflict very stressful and upsetting, and it's not as difficult for me to deal with in a book but augh. still dreading reading these next chapters of this book bc i skipped ahead a little and know they have like one (1) line of argument lol. not even that, one character just gets upset by the other and leaves, and the other character is left feeling angry.
